The Office of the Public Defender (OPD) says it has received complaints from residents of Tivoli Gardens that heavily-armed police and soldiers, some reportedly wearing masks, entered the community yesterday and searched a number of houses.
The OPD says the residents reported that they were questioned about the Dee Cee Avenue address and the burial sites of the two young men.
In a statement yesterday, Public Defender Arlene Harrison-Henry called the searches unlawful and noted that the reported actions of the security forces came a day after a soldier told the West Kingston Commission of Enquiry he believed the men were killed by a group of policemen.
Harrison-Henry says representatives of her office visited the community yesterday afternoon and saw damage to one sepulchre and evidence of fresh masonry work to re-seal it.... From Gleaner
