| Dr. Gavin O. Jones, Jamaican Scientist |
Dr. Jones is an IBM Q Ambassador and a Research Staff Member in the Quantum Applications in Chemistry and Science group at IBM Research - Almaden. Dr. Jones is a computational chemist with interests in catalysis, molecular properties, the formation of functional advanced materials, polymer degradation and performing quantum chemistry with quantum computers.
Dr. Jones completed his Ph. D. in theoretical/computational organic chemistry at the University of California Los Angeles, prior to postdoctoral research at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Dr. Jones joined IBM Research in 2010 as a postdoctoral researcher and became a Research Staff Member in 2013.

Dr. Jones has received an Outstanding Technical Achievement Award from IBM and was awarded an FP Global Thinkers Award: Innovator Category by Foreign Policy Magazine for his achievements in sustainability and recycling. more
Truly, great minds deserve great accolades. Very proud I am to know he is a Jamaican first and then a son of the St. Thomas soil. As we all seek to have our voices heard may we see our visions as larger than life and our contributions in whatever positive forms as another deposit in the grand design. Thank you sir Gavin for having answered the call, for standing tall and standing out. Keep conceiving and keep achieving.
