IN JAMAICA: Mandela Bus Lane Trial On

Motorists are being put on the alert that there will be traffic changes along the Mandela Highway today as the transport ministry conducts a dry run for a bus lane along the dual carriageway. The ministry says between 6 and 9 a.m. today the lane heading into Spanish Town will be converted to two-way traffic.

The dry run is for one day only, and is being undertaken during the morning peak hours, after which normal traffic operations will resume. The transport ministry says today’s dry run comes ahead of a bus lane trial by the Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC).

The three-month trial, which will get underway on November 1, will see the JUTC buses travelling along the Nelson Mandela Highway corridor using a designated bus lane. read more
