Holness, Shaw Camps Announce New Support As Leadership Campaign Nears End

As the the race for leadership of the 70-year-old Jamaica LabourParty (JLP) intensifies, both the incumbent leader and leader-aspirant, today announced new endorsements for their candidacies. 

Former president of the JLP young professional affiliate, Generation 2000, Delano Seiveright today made public his support for Audley Shaw's candidacy. 

In an email this morning to supporters at a conference dubbed 'Youth for Audley Shaw', Seiveright said the youth support for Shaw is based on meritocracy. He says Shaw embodies the qualities and experience urgently required to transform the party. Seiveright adds that Shaw's service as a public servant, including his experience as Minister of Finance and as an opposition member of parliament for many years, positions him as the best person to lead the JLP at this time.  read more
