Sarah Palin's Bizarre Iowa Speech Gets Thanks -- From The Democrats Sarah Palin in Iowa: "The man" (?) is doing some dirty things to...the middle class? The GOP?

The Huffington Post |  By Ed Mazza Email Posted: 01/25/2015 11:44 pm EST
Shortly after declaring that she's "seriously interested" in running for president in 2016, Sarah Palin delivered a confusing speech that was panned by many, even some on the right.
Speaking at the Iowa Freedom Summit in Des Moines on Saturday, the former Alaska governor and one-time vice presidential candidate delivered a speech that John Fund of the National Review described as "meandering and often bizarre."
Here's an excerpt:

Cosby: 'Trust Me.' Wife Of Prominent Film Producer Says Bill Cosby Assaulted Her In 1969.... I was a 21-year-old single woman in the world's most exciting city.

Posted: 01/26/2015 8:26 am EST
In 1969 I met Bill Cosby while working in New York for the late film producer Ray Stark. I was a 21-year-old single woman in the world's most exciting city. He was a 32-year-old internationally known comedian and television star, one of the most likeable and popular entertainers in the business. He asked for my number and I gave it to him.
Bill Cosby
Bill Cosby
We began hanging out, took in a movie, watched television and ate pizza and hot dogs in my apartment with my roommate. He was married to his current wife and he acted like a perfect gentleman who didn't come on to either of us, which, I have to admit, made me wonder what his objective was.
One night we were going out to a movie. We agreed to meet at an apartment that he said belonged to a friend of his. I had a terrible headache but didn't want to cancel the evening. He told me he had a miracle cure his doctor had given him that would get rid of the headache. He went into another room and came back with a capsule. I asked a couple of times what it was. Each time he reassured me, asking, "Don't you trust me?" Of course I did. This was Bill Cosby.
For more than 45 years I have tried to recall exactly what happened that night. To this day it remains a blur. I have a vague recollection of feeling like I was floating while walking through Times Square and watching some kind of Japanese samurai movie with him. I don't remember where the theater was nor very much of the evening. more

View image on TwitterNEW YORK (AP) -- Northeast residents are girding for a "crippling and potentially historic" storm that could bury communities from northern New Jersey to southern Maine in up to 2 feet of snow.
The National Weather Service said the nor'easter would bring heavy snow, powerful winds and widespread coastal flooding starting Monday and through Tuesday. A blizzard warning was issued for a 250-mile stretch of the Northeast, including New York and Boston.Government officials began to activate emergency centers on Sunday as professional sports teams, schools and utilities hastily revised their schedules and made preparations.
"This could be a storm the likes of which we have never seen before," New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio told a news conference in a Manhattan sanitation garage where workers were preparing plows and salt for the massive cleanup on about 6,000 miles of city roadways.
In Massachusetts, Gov. Charlie Baker warned residents to prepare for roads that are "very hard, if not impossible, to navigate," power outages and possibly even a lack of public transportation.
Boston is expected to get 18 to 24 inches of snow, with up to 2 feet or more west of the city, and Philadelphia could see up to a foot, the weather service said. more

Jamaicans erupted with joy when the 22-year-old Fennell was named in the top 15 in the early stages of the pageant held at Florida International University Arena in Doral, Miami.
The celebrations grew louder when she was the first contestant placed in the top 10, followed by the contestants from Agrentina, Ukraine, The Philippines, Colombia, Spain, The Netherlands, Venezuela, Australia, and USA.

Fennell pointed to reggae superstar Bob Marley and track legend Usain Bolt. Her answer elicited loud and sustained applause from her Jamaican supporters in the audience.
However, their hope turned to despair when Fennell was announced as the fourth runner-up.

Actress Shauna Chin is hoping her role on the hit CBS series Criminal Minds will lead to more acting opportunities in Hollywood.
The Montego Bay-born Chin shot scenes for an upcoming episode of the popular television drama this week.
She told Splash how the part came about.
"Over the years I've developed a relationship with the casting department for Criminal Minds. When an actor goes in for an audition, it's important for them to not just focus on landing the role, but also to make an impression," she said. "I've auditioned for them twice before for different episodes and did not get the part. However, I made sure that I stood out to their team, so I got placed on their radar."

The part is a small one. Chin shares a scene with Matthew Gray Gubler, who plays Dr Spencer Reid, one of the lead characters.

"It's the opportunity that's huge. Once you prove that you're able to book a major prime time television series, larger opportunities become available. So that's mostly why I'm excited about this particular role," she explained.
Chin is known by Jamaicans for her role in The Blackburns of Royal Palm Estate. She played Claudine Chambers, love interest of Richard Blackburn (Adam Hyde) and sister of the sinister Jennifer Chambers (Carol Williams).
The 35-year-old actress migrated to the United States in 1995. Growing up in Montego Bay, she attended Barracks Road Primary and Mount Alvernia High schools.
Chin later attended Davenport University in the US where she earned a degree in Health Care Business Administration. She holds a degree in nursing from Wayne State University.
Criminal Minds is her first US television credit. She has had small roles in films including The Necklace, Lunch Break and Choices.

Front cover of today's paperThe kindness of a 58-y ear-old woman meant nothing to a St Ann con artist last week, as she was fleeced of $300,000 in a bid to assist the con man, a senior citizen whom nobody expected to be involved in the business of ripping people off.

IN JAMAICA (INSPIRING STORY) : Yanique Chin, 18 y-o adamant she will stay alive...Glenmuir High School teen battles rare heart condition known as truncus arteriousus, in which the heart was not properly formed....“I believe I am going to live a long long time. I am very positive.” Chin said that she wanted her story to be told in a positive way and be inspiring to other people who may have similar and other life threatening illnesses.

Yanique Chin has been defying medical science by simply staying alive.
At three months old Chin’s mother was told that she would not live beyond three years old. When she got to three, she was then told six, followed by 12 and on and on it went.
18 y-o Yanique Chin
On New Year ’s Day, the Glenmuir High School fifth former celebrated her 18th birthday and believes she has many more ahead.
Chin was born with a rare condition known as truncus arteriousus, in which the heart was not properly formed. With a normal heart there are two main blood vessels leaving the heart — the aorta, carrying blood to the body, and the pulmonary artery that branches immediately to carry blood to each lung.
Instead of having a separate pulmonary artery and aorta, each with its own three-leafed valves, Chin’s heart has only one blood vessel or trunk leaving the heart, which then branches into blood vessels that go to the lungs and the body, thus preventing proper breathing and blood circulation. This can collapse at anytime.

“Three years come and passed. They say I had until 12 — 12 come and passed. Now I am 18,” a smiling Chin told the Jamaica Observer at her Clarendon home on Thursday. “I believe I am going to live a long long time. I am very positive.”
Chin said that she wanted her story to be told in a positive way and be inspiring to other people who may have similar and other life threatening illnesses.
“Mine is rare, my doctor say only two other persons that she knows of in Jamaica who have it. So I am the third one. But you have other persons with problems close to mine,” she lamented.
Despite the doctor’s diagnosis, Chin admitted to not realising just how serious and life threatening her condition was until she was 14. Now that she is aware, she ensures that she complies with the doctor’s orders, and continues to hope. more

To Kaci, With Love...Could the next Miss Universe be a Jamaican???? As 22-year old gamine beauty Kaci Fennell hits the stage at the Florida International University Arena in Doral, Miami for tonight's Miss Universe live NBC broadcast (to be simultaneously telecast locally on TVJ)

Kaci Fennell
She's wooing international pageant press watchers, second-place to the Philippines in Internet polled fan votes, and looking to shake things up and snag The Rock's first Miss Universe crown. As 22-year old gamine beauty Kaci Fennell hits the stage at the Florida International University Arena in Doral, Miami for tonight's Miss Universe live NBC broadcast (to be simultaneously telecast locally on TVJ) and aims to one-up 2010's first runner-up Yendi Phillipps, we at SO were long taken with the Audrey Hepburn-loving Fennell (note her too-cute pixie-cut ode) before she entertained star-making dreams.
Blessed with winning poise, charm for days, and an easiness on the eyes, Fennell has sat for our stable of in-house photogs on fashion shoots for our Style Observer and All Woman publications, beginning in 2012; made the guest list for our Scandal viewing party in 2013; invited us into her home for a Best Dressed Chicken-prepared, friendship-themed dinner that she whipped up for a Thursday Life feature, and has remained a Page 2 fave four years since we crossed paths.
Best wishes, dear Kaci, and here's our valentine to you!

ST. JAMES, JAMAICA: MoBay doctor returns tightness to vaginas with procedure called Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation (LVR) . Gynaecologist says procedure bringing back the love in marriages....After giving birth to three children, the 33-year-old Montegonian just couldn’t get the pleasure she once experienced during sex... DR GERMAINE SPENCER patients say procedure is best thing since slice bread

MONTEGO BAY, St James — After giving birth to three children, the 33-year-old Montegonian just couldn’t get the pleasure she once experienced during sex.
01
Dr. Spencer
The woman, who has been married for almost three years, said the tightness in her vagina no longer existed.
Fearing that the lacklustre sex could impact negatively on her marriage, she became worried, and suffered in silence for months.
“It [sex] just didn’t feel the same as before, and I know my husband who is 37 felt the same way about it, even though he said it’s okay. But I know for sure that he just wasn’t getting that feeling like before, just like myself, and so I became very concerned about our marriage,” she told the Jamaica Observer.
But fortunately for her, sometime last year she saw an advertisement in a local newspaper that addressed a surgical procedure called Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation (LVR) that involves the tightening of loose vaginal muscles, being offered by Dr Germaine Spencer at Baywest Wellness Clinic in this resort city.
After much discussion with her husband, who she said was “a bit sceptical”, and consultations with Dr Spencer about the operation, the woman, whose condition is known as vaginal relaxation, decided to go for it.
The procedure, which lasted for less than an hour, was successfully done last April, much to the delight of her husband and herself. more

Ronnie Thwaites, Minister of Education lashes GULLY BOP...for his recent comment on a television show in which he bragged of side-stepping his responsibility as a father....Thwaites lamented that a recent survey on living conditions in Jamaica revealed that 38 per cent of the nation's youths "either don't know who their father is or have no effective relationship with him".

BY HORACE HINES Observer staff reporter hinesh@jamaicaobserver.com  Saturday, January 24, 2015
MONTEGO BAY, St James — Education Minister Ronald Thwaites has taken issue with deejay Gully Bop for his recent comment on a television show in which he bragged of side-stepping his responsibility as a father.
Gully Bop and Ronnie Thwaites, Minister of Education
Thwaites was speaking at Montego Bay High School for Girls on Wednesday at the Kiwanis International 100th anniversary celebration during which 100 youths were recognised for their exemplary services as volunteers.
"I don't want to criticise him too much, because I only heard it second hand. But I gather that recently there was an interview, it must have been on some video or television, of a man called Gully Flop... have I got that right? And when this person, whoever he is, was asked about his children, he said yea, he has plenty children but he only looks after three or so because he makes it a pattern that he only deals with a woman who is working or a woman who has a man who is working," said Thwaites.
"I want to tell you, that's what's keeping Jamaica back, and what's cranking us in education, is the weakness of the family structure in this country. And you (students) are old enough for me to say to you this evening that the greatest shackle of the slavery that we all went through in different roles, was the destruction of the African family form," he continued.
The education minister, who is a father of seven children, said that a good parent is of extreme significance.
"The most important thing that we can ever be in life is not to be prime minister or Usain Bolt or Shelly Ann (Fraser) or anybody else, but it is to be a good parent. And you are preparing for that right now by your very involvement in the Kiwanis movement and in the service that you give," the education minister said. more
