KINGSTON, Jamaica – A student of the Shortwood Teachers’ College in St Andrew died this afternoon from complications associated with the Chikungunya virus.
Tracey-Ann Campbell, a third year English student from Christiana, Manchester, died while being treated by doctors at the institution.

Reports reaching OBSERVER ONLINE are that Campbell visited the University Hospital of the West Indies Sunday and the Kingston Public Hospital on Monday and was treated and released.
Today, Campbell, who is said to asthmatic, visited the doctor about 3:40 pm and was pronounced dead by 3:48 pm.
Classes have been suspended at the teacher-training institution and students are undergoing grief counselling.
