Rest in Peace, Dr. Deborah Washington Brown passed 1 year ago today at 68 y-o on June 5, 2020 at 12:01 PM, after battling pancreatic cancer for 18 months. She is the first black woman to receive a Ph.D from Harvard University in Applied Math & Computer Science and finished at the top of her doctoral graduating class at Harvard. Debbie also taught computer science and four variations of mathematics at Harvard in the late 70’s.
She worked at AT&T, Verizon, Bellcore, Speechsoft and other speech recognition/telecommunication companies for over 4 decades.

Debbie was a top scientist in the field of speech recognition and received 13 inventions/patents. She also excelled playing classical piano music for 60 years and performed at Carnegie Hall in New York, won piano competition in Russia and performed in Germany, Italy and many other concert halls in the USA.
She was recognized for her outstanding works in the field of speech recognition as one of the top 13 tech luminaries in the world, who passed away in 2020, see computer world magazine for further details. Recognized by Wikipedia, Harvard, Princeton and Columbia Universities and other major publications for her accomplishments.
She was a member of MENSA society & Triple9 (999) high IQ society based on her very high IQ scores.
Debbie supported her husband Rula Brown's PALAS program by sponsoring 25 scholarships in her name over the past 10 years to students in Jamaica. Daughters Laurel, Latoya and husband, Rula, and the rest of the family miss her very much on this day as she rest in heaven. Persons may make a donation to her scholarship fund at www.PALAS1.org.
