The police are reporting that an assault rifle was among three illegal firearms seized on Jarrett Lane, Kingston 3 yesterday. 
The .30mm rifle, which was fitted with a telescope, was seized during a joint police/military operation that was conducted in the community between 11:00 a.m. and 3:15 p.m. Also seized during the operation were:
- One .44 Magnum revolver;
- One 9mm Pistol;
- Eighteen 5.56 cartridges
- One M16 magazine;
- One AK47 magazine;
- One ballistic vest;
- One pair of binoculars
No one was arrested in connection with the seizure, however, the police say investigations are ongoing.
This is the second multiple firearms seizure by the police in a 24-hour period. On Friday, three high-powered rifles and 137 assorted rounds of ammunition were seized in Salt Spring, St James.
