CLARENDON, JAMAICA: Six shot, injured in May Pen market

CLARENDON, Jamaica — The police have reported that six people were shot and injured in the May Pen market yesterday by a lone gunman.
The six, according to the Jamaica Constabulary Force's information unit, the Corporate Communications Unit (CCU), were at a section of the market about 3:40pm when they were approached by the man who opened gunfire hitting them multiple times.
At the end of the chaos, which sent people scampering for cover, it was discovered that the six people were shot.
They were subsequently taken to the May Pen Hospital in Denbigh where some were treated and released while the others were admitted in serious but stable conditions.
According to the police, one person received injuries to the hand and shoulder, another to the neck, one to the left hand, one to the knee, a lower back injury to another while the sixth person received gunshot wounds to both shoulders, buttocks and a leg.
Investigations are ongoing.
