The 33-year-old Irishman is doing research for a book on the legendary Jamaican record label, Studio One, and its fabled founder and producer, Clement “Coxson” Dodd.

“The history of Studio One has never been told in a comprehensive way, and I think that's a shame,” Finlay told the Jamaica Observer.
He and his Slovakian wife, Mima, recently arrived in Kingston and have done a number of interviews with individuals who recorded for Studio One and Dodd, who died in 2006 at age 72. To date, they have met with audio engineer Sylvan Morris; singers Lascelles Perkins, Freddie McGregor and Ken Boothe; and musician Leroy “Horsemouth” Wallace.
