KINGSTON, Jamaica – A man was this morning beaten to death by residents of Cockburn Avenue in Kingston, after an 84-year-old woman was found dead inside her house.
The police have not released the names of the deceased.
The Constabulary's Corporate Communications Unit says initial reports are that the woman's relatives discovered her body about 7:30 am. An alarm was raised and residents reportedly saw two men who were not known to anyone in the community. The men were allegedly questioned by the residents but one of them ran, the other was held and beaten. He died.
The police say they are investigating the circumstances which led to the deaths of the two people and will provide an update as soon as more information is available.
