TENSION AMONG RIVAL GANGS: As 1 dead, 5 injured in West Kgn shooting since the shooting of "Dudus's son"

Monday, November 14, 2016
TENSION among rival gangs in West Kingston resulted in the shooting death of a man and the wounding of four people on Bread Lane in Denham Town yesterday.
Police have not yet identified the dead man.
The Jamaica Constabulary Force’s Corporate Communications Unit confirmed the incident which occurred at approximately 10:30 am. The other victims have been admitted in hospital.
According to the police, a group of people was standing outside a house when gunmen drove up to them and opened fire, hitting them, before escaping. Yesterday, the police high command was locked in a meeting up to press time apparently discussing the incident.
The attack comes two days after Michael Coke was hospitalised after he was shot multiple times in the upper body.
Coke is the son of former Tivoli Gardens strongman Christopher “Dudus” Coke, now a convict serving prison time in the United States.
Rival gangs on Friday traded bullets while supporters of the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) revelled in front of a plaza on Spanish Town Road following the nomination of JLP incumbent candidate for the Tivoli Gardens Division of the Kingston and St Andrew Corporation Donovan Samuels.
Michael Coke’s aunt, Sandy Coke, was also hurt in that incident after she was hit by glass splinters.
The police were unable to say whether yesterday’s incident is linked to Friday’s.
