QUACIE Hart, the man wanted for the murder of 14-year-old Jamaica College student Nicholas Francis, has been formally charged for murder.
The announcement was made via the Jamaica Constabulary Force Facebookpage yesterday afternoon.
This comes after Hart turned himself in to the Half-Way-Tree police in the company of his lawyer on Saturday night, three days after the incident.
Reports are that about 4:20 pm last Wednesday, Nicholas was a passenger on a bus travelling along Old Hope Road in St Andrew when a man tried to rob him of his cellular phone. Nicholas reportedly resisted and was stabbed in the left side of his chest. He was taken to hospital where he died while being treated.
Crime Stop had offered a $1-million reward, provided by the private sector, family and friends of Jamaica College for information leading to the arrest of Hart.
