LUNCHEONS, a cruise, games, luxury weekend getaways and a glorious repast of local culinary offerings marked Jamaica's Teachers' Day 2015 celebrations for about 350 of the island's educators who were feted across Sandals, Beaches and Grand Pineapple Resorts.
Several of the 160 teachers feted at the Sandals and Beaches
Resorts in the Ocho Rios region, at a luncheon hosted by
Sandals Ochi Beach Resort, share a light moment with
Regional Public Relations Manager Ian Spencer.
The teachers hailed from a number of the Group's 26 adopted schools and other supported educational institutions.
Beaches Negril's Hotel Manager Caroline Cousins, in addressing 50 teachers hosted at a luncheon at her resort, thanked the educators whom she said "have been doing a tremendous job in nurturing our children and contributing to nation building".
"The festivities are an indication of the profound appreciation that Sandals Resorts has for teachers and how they conduct their duties professionally, guiding children into understanding and shaping their world. We remain committed to the promise of education so will continue to see to it that this aspect of the Caribbean region is given the attention and development that it merits," she added.
Those 50 teachers were later treated to spa teasers as well as day passes, which gave them unlimited access to all land, watersports, entertainment and food and beverage services at Sandals Negril, Beaches Negril and Grand Pineapple Negril. They also received prizes of massages, alcoholic beverages, stationery and other items.

The teachers were greeted by managers and other team members with cold towels and further received a Jamaican welcome by the Small Ax Mento Band. The 45 also participated in a host of fun games and received numerous prizes inclusive of Sandals souvenirs from the resort's revenue areas, skin care products from the Red Lane Spa, jewellery from Colombian Emeralds, alcoholic/non-alcoholic beverages and school supplies. more
