ROOTS sensation Chronixx was the toast of the fifth Linkage Awards last Saturday, at Evander Child's High School in The Bronx, New York.

Chronixx won three awards: Culture Artist of the Year, Best New Artist and Entertainer of the Year.

The singer had an outstanding 2013, topping charts with the ballad Smile Jamaica and hard-hitting Here Comes Trouble.

Deejay I-Octane and singer Tessanne Chin won two awards. The former was selected Male DJ of the Year and Male Recording Artist of the Year, while Chin, winner of the fifth season of NBC's hit show The Voice, won Female Recording Artist of the Year and Female Vocalist of the Year.

Four persons (Lady Junie, Sister Nancy, Tony Rebel and Etana) received Lifetime Achievement Awards.

VP Records -- Outstanding Contribution to Music

Beenie Man -- Outstanding Achievement in Music

Queen Ifrica -- Outstanding Achievement in Music

Ron Muschette (Irie FM) -- Radio Personality of the Year

Jamaica Red Hott Radio -- Radio Station of the Year

Ragashanti (Tambourine Radio) -- Radio Personality of the Year. more
