KINGSTON, Jamaica -- A massive protest is now underway in Denham Town, West Kingston where a man was shot and killed in what police report was a shootout with cops.

Residents in the area are however strongly disputing the police’s claims. 

"The man identified as Kevin Davis, Little Man, was at him house on Tulip Lane when the police shot and killed him, he was unarmed," an obviously upset resident told OBSERVER ONLINE.

He was one of several placard bearing residents who, in voicing their opposition to the police action, blocked several roadways in the community. Meanwhile Steve McGregor, head of the West Kingston Division said he received reports that the man was a member of the Scare Dem gang. McGregor said however that an investigation will be launched into the incident.
