VYBZ KARTEL TRIAL: Kartel's Phone Used While In Safe-Keeping

Detective Sergeant Patrick Linton, the former Head of the Cybercrimes unit, was questioned at length this afternoon as to how a cellphone attributed to entertainer Vybz Kartel was used.In response to defence lawyers Tom Tavares-Finson and Pierre Rogers, Linton said he had no explanation for that. 

The policeman said the key was put on top of the locker and he did not take it home with him. He said when he received the phones on October 3, 2011 from the Flying Squad, he did not access them until the 14th. The lawyers suggested to the witness that the Blackberry phone was used on October 19 to make several calls. The lawyers also suggested that the integrity of the phone has been compromised. more
