MANCHESTER, Jamaica — The Manchester police say that they now have in custody the 68-year old man who allegedly shot his 75-year-old wife at their home on Knowles Crescent Friday morning.
His licensed firearm, which he allegedly hid after committing the act, was also found. According to the Constabulary Communications Network (CCN) the couple was having marital problems.
Friday morning while the wife was exiting the kitchen at about 5:00am the husband reportedly confronted her with the gun and fired shots at her, the police say. She reportedly ran, jumped a fence and was assisted by a neighbour who called the cops. Police say that she is now in hospital.
The husband whom it is said was a pastor overseas allegedly hit a man with his motorcar as he tried to get away from the scene. Reports are that the man is also nursing injuries in the hospital. Read more:
