Dr. NEIL GARDNER: The Truth About Cholesterol: Part 3 - How To Naturally Lower Cholesterol

Dr Neil GardnerWe now understand from the last two articles that inflammation is the real cause of heart disease and that cholesterol-loweringmedications are very dangerous to your health. Not only are they potentially harmful, but they do not deliver on the promise to reduce heart disease. In order for us to finally lower the incidence of heart disease, we must effectively tackle the problem of inflammation by identifying and correcting our habits that lead to it.
Omega-6 and Omega-3 Fats
The two main types of oils that we consume that participate in the inflammation processes in the body are the omega-6 fats, which promote inflammation and omega-3 fats, which reduce inflammation. In order for us to be healthy, our diet must contain the right blend of both omega-6 and omega-3 fats.
Omega-6 fats may be found in poultry, avocado, most vegetable oils used for cooking, flax/linseed oil, rapeseed or canola oil, soybean oil, cottonseed oil, sunflower seed oil, corn oil, safflower oil, cashews, pecans, pine nuts, walnuts, coconut. Some good sources of omega-3 fats include cold-water fish such as herring, sardines, mackerel, salmon, halibut, tuna, swordfish, cod, as well as catfish, flounder, grouper, mahi mahi, and red snapper. Neha Ramu, Teen With Higher IQ Than Einstein, Says Comparison Is 'Not Right' (VIDEO)

Meet Neha Ramu, the 13-year-old who reached the highest possible score on the Mensa IQ test -- even higher than Einstein's. In fact, she's in the top one percent of intelligence ratings among people in the UK, according to Asian News International.
But don't be too quick to hold her up to other famous geniuses. She'll be the first to tell you that she doesn't think it's a fair comparison.
The Huffington Post covered her amazing story in March, and this week the BBC released an awesome interview with the teen.
"Stephen Hawking and Albert Eistenstein, they've achieved so much that I couldn't even dream of achieving, so it's not right to compare me to them just cause of my IQ," Neha told the BBC. "If I don't put in my effort and make use of my IQ there is no point in having it."

The Guardian published the identity of the whistleblower on Sunday responsible for providing the paper with top-secret documents that revealed the National Security Agency's secret surveillance programs. The paper wrote that it was revealing Edward Snowden's identity at his request:
From the moment he decided to disclose numerous top-secret documents to the public, he was determined not to opt for the protection of anonymity. 'I have no intention of hiding who I am because I know I have done nothing wrong,' he said.
The Guardian compared Snowden, a 29-year-old former CIA technical assistant and current employee of Booz Allen Hamilton, to Daniel Ellsberg and Bradley Manning. "Snowden will go down in history as one of America's most consequential whistleblowers, alongside Daniel Ellsberg and Bradley Manning. He is responsible for handing over material from one of the world's most secretive organisations – the NSA," Glenn Greenwald, Ewen MacAskill and Laura Poitras wrote.
Snowden, however, said there were differences. "I carefully evaluateevery single document I disclosed"...... READ More...

ROME — After five dominating years, Usain Bolt is showing signs of slowing down.
The Jamaican lost by a hundredth of a second to American Justin Gatlin in the 100 meters Thursday night at the Golden Gala meet. Gatlin finished in 9.94 seconds.
It was Bolt's first significant loss since his false-start disqualification at the 2011 world championships in South Korea. But he also struggled in his first 100 this year, winning a photo finish in 10.09 in the Cayman Islands a month ago while dealing with a hamstring injury.
This is normally the time Bolt starts to leave his rivals behind as he revs up for the year's biggest event. This season, it's the world championships in Moscow in August.
However, the always cool Jamaican isn't worried. READ More....

America, here's hoping you've had enough time to be come to terms with the National Security Agency scooping up all of your metadata pertaining to all of the phone calls you've been making with Verizon, because here comes the next fun news about the government's far-reaching panopticon of total information surveillance, courtesy of Barton Gellman and Laura Poitras of The Washington Post:

Prism Nsa Data MiningThe highly classified program, code-named PRISM, has not been disclosed publicly before. Its establishment in 2007 and six years of exponential growth took place beneath the surface of a roiling debate over the boundaries of surveillance and privacy. Even late last year, when critics of the foreign intelligence statute argued for changes, the only members of Congress who know about PRISM were bound by oaths of office to hold their tongues. 'We Have The Numbers' - Anti-Homosexuality Church Leaders Confident Enough Religious Jamaicans In Island To Prevent Change To Buggery Law

Carol Narcisse

With some 2,050,771 Jamaicans claiming affiliation to a religion, it would appear the church community, which has been standing firm against gay-rights activists in recent days, might be able to put up a formidable defence against those seeking to have the Government repeal the country's buggery law.
Just recently, one prominent clergyman shouted from his pulpit that he was prepared to die to ensure that Jamaica does not succumb to pressure from gay rights activists.
The statement from the executive director of the Church of God in Jamaica, Reverend Lenworth Anglin, followed that of another pastor, Reverend Al Miller, who declared last week that "a group of concerned pastors and leaders" have stated their willingness to mobilise and resist any attempts to tamper with the country's Constitution as it relates to the buggery law.
"We certainly have the numbers," Anglin told The Gleaner yesterday.
Data from the latest Population and Housing Census appear to support Anglin's claim. They indicate that some 129,554 Jamaicans are affiliated with a Church of God denomination. READ More...

THEY'RE WATCHING: MILLIONS Of Phone Records Collected Daily... ACLU: This Is 'Beyond Orwellian'

NEW YORK (Reuters) - The U.S. National Security Agency is collecting telephone records of millions of Verizon Communications customers under a secret court order issued in April, according to a story on the Guardian website.

Citing a copy of the court order, which the Guardian said it had obtained, the report said Verizon is required on an "ongoing, daily basis" to give the NSA data on all phone calls in network within the United States and between the United States and other countries.

The National Security Agency told Reuters it had no immediate comment and Verizon spokesman Ed McFadden declined to comment. The Guardian said the White House and the Department of Justice declined to comment for its story.

According to the story, the secret Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (Fisa) granted the order to the FBI on April 25, giving the U.S. government unlimited authority to access the data for a three-month period ending on July 19. READ More...

CAUGHT ON VIDEO TAPE (SICKENING POLICE BRUTALITY): Houston Police Chief Charles McClelland Jr. Tells Jury Video Of Officers Beating Chad Holley Is Sickening

HOUSTON — Houston's police chief told jurors on Tuesday that the 2010 videotaped beating of a black teen burglary suspect made him "sick to my stomach" and gave the police department a "black eye."
Police Chief Charles McClelland Jr. testified that fired officer Drew Ryser – one of four officers who were indicted in the case – mistreated the teen during his arrest and failed to follow proper procedures. Ryser, 32, is on trial this week on a misdemeanor charge of official oppression. He faces up to a year in jail if convicted.
"It made me sick to my stomach because it was an egregious use of force and the men and women of the Houston police department are better than that ... they did not deserve that type of black eye," McClelland told special prosecutor Jonathan Munier. READ More,,,
