George Fitzroy Quallo has signalled that he will demit office next week, law enforcement officials have revealed.
His last day in office will be Thursday. Quallo reportedly met with Prime Minister Andrew Holness yesterday. His decision to leave the job comes nine months after taking over the leadership of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF).

However, both men have denied those reports. Since yesterday, Quallo has been touring sections of St James where a state of public emergency is in place. United States Secretary of State Rex Tillerson is to travel to Jamaica next month.
An advisory from the US embassy in Kingston says he will arrive in Kingston on February 7. He will meet with Prime Minister Andrew Holness and Foreign Minister Kamina Johnson-Smith to discuss bilateral and regional security, energy efforts, and Jamaica’s successful economic reform efforts.
