VACCINE VACILLATORS (Measles Outbreak) : Rand Paul: Children Got 'Profound Mental Disorders' After Receiving Vaccines...Rand: Vaccinated Children Got 'Profound Mental Disorders'... Christie: Parents Should Have 'Some Measure Of Choice'... Obama: Vaccinate Your Kids... CDC 'Very Concerned' About Potential For Large Measles Outbreak

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) argued Monday that debate over whether to allow parents more choice in the vaccination of their children was a matter of "freedom," citing personal knowledge of kids "who wound up with profound mental disorders" after receiving immunizations for diseases like Hepatitis B and measles.
"I don't think there's anything extraordinary about resorting to freedom," the potential 2016 presidential candidate, who is a ophthalmologist, said in an interview with CNBC.
Rand Paul & Chris Christie
"We sometimes give five or six vaccines all at one time," he said of immunizations of newborns for Hepatitis B. "I chose to have mine delayed....Do I think it's ultimately a good idea? Yeah. So I had mine staggered over several months. I've heard of many tragic cases of walking, talking, normal children, who wound up with profound mental disorders after vaccines. I'm not arguing that vaccines are a bad idea, I think they're a good thing. But I think parents should have some input. The state doesn't own your children, parents own their children, and it is an issue of freedom. " more

Donations pour in for Detroit man who walks 21 miles for his daily commute to work....56 y-o James Robertson has done much of his long journey to work on foot since his car broke down

By Jethro Mullen, CNN Updated 1:53 AM ET, Tue February 3, 2015
(CNN)There are tiring commutes. And then there's James Robertson's commute.
The 56-year-old Detroit man walks 21 miles every weekday as part of his journey to and from the factory where he works.
Robertson takes the bus some of the way, according to the Detroit Free Press, which brought Robertson's herculean daily hike to public attention over the weekend.
But for the past decade, ever since his car broke down, he has trudged the better part of a marathon each workday. Rain, snow or shine.

That could be about to change. After reading the Detroit Free Press article, some people felt moved to set up online fundraising efforts to buy Robertson a new car. The donations have come flooding in.
A fundraiser on GoFundMe has blown past its original goal of $5,000, reaching a total of more than $125,000, as of early Tuesday.

Bobbi Kristina Brown: Tyler Perry’s Generous Offer To Help Her Heal....Bobbi Kristina is allegedly ‘fighting for her life,’ a new report claims, but Tyler Perry, who is a close family friend, has a plan in mind — one which he believes will help Whitney Houston’s daughter heal faster.

Bobbi Kristina is allegedly ‘fighting for her life,’ a new report claims, but Tyler Perry, who is a close family friend, has a plan in mind — one which he believes will help Whitney Houston’s daughter heal faster. Find out the EXCLUSIVE details, according to a trusted source.

Tyler Perry and Bobbi Kristina
Tyler Perry, who was a very close friend of Whitney Houston‘s, has been standing by Bobbi Kristina Brown‘s hospital bedside since she was admitted on Jan. 31. Everyone’s being told to “prepare for the worst,” according to a new report, but Tyler believes there may be hope for Bobbi.

Tyler Perry On Bobbi Kristina Brown’s Condition — His Plan To Heal Her Revealed

“Tyler and Bobby Brown are both keeping hope alive for Bobbi Kristina and the minute she shows signs of tremendous improvement, Tyler wants her to immediately begin her recovery at his home,” a source tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. Unfortunately, Bobbi Kristina, 21, is currently on a ventilator and new tests show that her brain function is “alarmingly low,” according to TMZ.

Bobby Brown & Tyler Perry Don’t Want To Think About Bobbi Kristina Dying

“While they’re trying not to think about her dying, both Bobby and Tyler don’t want her to die in a hospital. Tyler and Bobby have both discussed the possibility of moving her treatment to Tyler’s house now, but they’ve been told it’s too risky to do that at this time. They both feel like she’ll come back faster if she’s at Tyler’s home, surrounded by all of her family. They’re both in a lot of pain right now and just trying to do anything to get Bobbi better,” our source adds.
We certainly hope Bobbi Kristina pulls through even if that means moving her to another location. more

Obama To Parents: 'Get Your Kids Vaccinated'

BARACK OBAMAPresident Barack Obama urged American parents to get their children fully vaccinated on Sunday, amid growing concerns over an outbreak of measles, a highly contagious airborne disease, in the western United States. "I understand that there are families that, in some cases, are concerned about the effect of vaccinations," Obama said in a pre-Super Bowl interview with NBC's Savannah Guthrie on Sunday. "The science is, you know, pretty indisputable. We’ve looked at this again and again. There is every reason ...

TMZ EXCLUSIVE: Suge Knight "I Didn't Even Know I Hit the Guy"

2/2/2015 12:45 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF
Suge Knight has a defense to the fatal hit and run ... he didn't know he hit and ran.

Sources connected with Suge tell TMZ ... he claims he was in fear of his life when he gunned his truck, striking and killing Terry Carter and injuring Cle "Bone" Sloan.

Suge says he had just been beaten by 2 to 4 guys while he sat hostage in his truck. And he says, he was frail because he was shot 6 times last Summer and on top of that, almost died recently from a blood clot.

Suge says he was so discombobulated when he floored it he had no idea his truck struck anyone.

Here's the problem ... even if this gets him out of a hit and run, cops still believe he intentionally tried to run over Bone and then hit Terry by accident, and if true that would constitute felony murder. more

PATRIOTS STUNNER : New England Wins Thrilling Super Bowl On Last-Minute Interception... Rallies From 10 Point Deficit... 4th Title For Brady, Belichick... Brady Nabs MVP... Pete Carroll On His Decision To Throw: 'I Hate That We Have To Live With That'

GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) — Ten years removed from his last Super Bowl win, Tom Brady wasn't letting this one slip away.NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS
Sure, the brilliant Brady needed a huge play by an undrafted rookie to preserve New England's 28-24 Super Bowl victory over Seattle on Sunday night. But Brady's imprint was all over the Patriots' sensational fourth-quarter rally for their fourth NFL championship of the Brady-Bill Belichick era.
"You know, whatever it takes," the record-setting Brady said after throwing for four touchdowns, including a 3-yarder to Julian Edelman with 2:02 remaining as New England rallied from a 10-point deficit. "Every team has a journey and a lot of people lost faith in us ... but we held strong, we held together, and it's a great feeling." more

BY KIMBERLEY HIBBERT Observer staff reporter kimberleyh@jamaicaobserver.com  Monday, February 02, 2015
OPPOSITION Jamica Labour Party (JLP) Senator Alexander Williams is now set to take on People's National Party (PNP) first-time Member of Parliament (MP) Damion Crawford in East Rural St Andrew following his official presentation to the constituency at a party meeting at Papine High yesterday.

Williams and Crawford
Williams who was recently given the new spokesperson portfolio of land and environment was introduced as the party's standard-bearer by party leader Andrew Holness who urged supporters to "invest in their new caretaker".
Crawford, against all odds, beat off a challenge from the JLP's Joan Gordon Wehby to take home the seat for the governing PNP in the last general election but yesterday Holness said Williams is an investment which will pay off.
"I am certain Alex will be an investment that will pay off in your life and in your children's life as well," he said.
Meanwhile, the new caretaker, in his first official address in that capacity, told supporters that in order to ensure everyone has a new way and a better life, a representative who is independent of party politics is needed.
"East Rural St Andrew needs proper representation. East Rural St Andrew needs someone who cares about JLP and PNP," Williams said. more

THIS week marks the birthdays of reggae's most influential artistes -- Bob Marley and Dennis Brown. Marley, who died in May 1981 at age 36 would be 70 on February 6.
Dennis Brown died in June 1999. He would have celebrated his 58th birthday yesterday. The Jamaica Observer looks at their careers through daily tidbits in February, recognised as Reggae Month.
Bob Marley and Dennis Brown
* Dennis Brown and Bob Marley recorded for producer Clement 'Coxson' Dodd's Studio One early in their careers. As a member of The Wailers, Marley's hits at Studio One included Simmer Down and It Hurts to be Alone. No Man is an Island and If I Follow my Heart are among Brown's hits for Dodd.
* Marley and Brown performed on two shows during their long careers: the April 1978 One Love Peace Concert at the National Stadium, and at Reggae Sunsplash at Jarrett Park, Montego Bay the following year.
* In 1973, Marley began recording Natty Dread, his first solo album for Island Records. It contained the classic songs No Woman, No Cry, So Jah Seh and Them Belly Full. That year, 17-year-old Dennis Brown teamed with producer Winston 'Niney' Holness and the Soul Syndicate Band for the hit songs Cassandra, Westbound Train and No More Shall I Roam.

Saturday evening her father, Bobby Brown arrived at her bedside. Doctors have placed Bobbi Kristina in a medically induced coma to prevent brain swelling. ET is reporting that a close family member has told them that the 21-year-old has been placed on a ventilator. The machine is used on patients who are unable to completely breathe on their own.
Their source also tells them that this is not an attempted suicide but is being investigated by police as a drug overdose.
Saturday morning rescue workers were sent to Brown’s home in Roswell, Georgia at 10:25am after her husband, Nick Gordon, and a friend found her in the bathtub face down. The two tried to administer CPR. Police arrived on the scene and also tried to resuscitate Brown until the Roswell Fire and Rescue personnel arrived. more

NFL Super Bowl XLIX CHAMPIONSHIP : Patriots (14-4) vs. Seahawks (14-4).....Seahawks Super Bowl Repeat A Scary Prospect For NFL

AP |  By BARRY WILNER Posted: 01/31/2015 11:39 pm EST
PHOENIX (AP) — Here are some scary thoughts for the rest of the NFL:
A win Sunday will stamp the Seahawks as one of the best teams of the Super Bowl era. And, given Seattle's makeup and philosophy, the future for the franchise might be brighter than for any other club.
Rarely has a team with so many key young players been so formidable. The last such group might have been the Jimmy Johnson Cowboys of the early 1990s, when Dallas had the Triplets: future Hall of Famers Emmitt Smith, Troy Aikman and Michael Irvin. Seattle has its own trio of All-Pros, but on defense: cornerback Richard Sherman, safety Earl Thomas and middle linebacker Bobby Wagner. All are 26 or younger.
Brady and Bellichek
They're complemented by young talent all over the lineup, from Kam Chancellor (26) in the secondary to linebacker K.J. Wright (25) to offensive leaders quarterback Russell Wilson (26), receivers Doug Baldwin (26) and Jermaine Kearse (25 next week), tight end Luke Willson (25) and a bunch of twenty-somethings on the line.
All of them already have experienced the ultimate success on the field, and if they can beat New England for a second straight championship, the D word frequently will be thrown around. more

The two were awarded last month by the company at their 10th annual scholarship awards ceremony, held in Kingston.
Spence is currently completing her bachelor's degree in business administration at the University of Technology (UTech) and currently has a GPA of 3.27; while Dean, who is currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in management studies at the University of the West Indies (UWI), currently has a GPA of 3.82.
"I feel both elated and humbled. I am tremendously grateful and privileged to have been chosen," said Spence, a past student of The Manning's School.
"I feel as though I have been awarded for my hard work and that gives me a sense of accomplishment."
A future auditor, Spence said the burden is now lighter for her family.
"It has been a rocky road for me as I grew up in a single parent family. My mother did her best for my siblings and I, and tuition was hard to source. My studies were affected at times. There were times when I had to consider where the next meal was coming from, but nonetheless, I trusted in God and He provided." more

BEENIEMAN and HIS 2 BEAUTIFUL DAUGHTERS at JAZZ and BLUES FESTIVAL 2015 in JAMAICA

ST. ANN, JAMAICA (DESPERATE FINANCIAL HELP IS NEEDED): Family SHAKERA FACEY of baffled by huge lump on teen's shoulder.... Doctor says I have a 50/50 chance, says teen.... she was told that the machine at KPH to do the required computerised tomography (CT scan) was out of operation and would not be up and running until January. Unable to wait, she decided to go the University Hospital of the West Indies (UHWI), armed with only $7,000 that she could put together, and made arrangements to pay the remaining $27,000 later.

BY DONNA HUSSEY-WHYTE Sunday Observer staff reporter husseyd@jamaicaobserver.com  Sunday, February 01, 2015
SHAKERA Facey is trying her best to remain hopeful.
But a huge mass which started to grow on her left shoulder five months ago is weighing her down both physically and mentally, to the point where her hope is waning thin.
01
Shakera Facey and her dad
So large is the mass that it has outgrown the size of the teen, preventing her from moving around on her own, or even showering herself.
The family said that despite a number of visits to private doctors and hospitals, so far no one seems to know for sure what has caused the swelling or what should be done about it.
Shakera, who turned 19 last Tuesday, said that it all began in June last year when she was working as a bartender in St Ann's Bay, and went outside to dispose of garbage. During the process, she slipped, and broke her fall by catching herself on her left arm which she said twisted under her 200-pound weight.
After a few days she started feeling pain in her shoulder and a small swelling developed.
A few weeks later, the pain was so bad that she had to visit St Ann's Bay Hospital.
Shakera Facey
She was given medication and a date to return. When she went back she was told that she could do one of three things -- a minor surgery whereby doctors would put an instrument inside her arm to see what was happening; take more medication for the pain and swelling; or do physiotherapy.
She chose physiotherapy.
The therapist gave her something for the swelling, but this, she said, did not work, therefore she was encouraged to do an x-ray in early September. more

Mitt Romney Is Not Running For President In 2016 ....Dining With Christie Tonight...

The Huffington Post |  By Paige Lavender & Sam Levine Email Posted: 01/30/2015 10:54 am EST
Former Massachusetts governor and 2012 GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney said he will not run for president in 2016.
Romney
Hugh Hewitt posted text of the remarks Romney was to make on a conference call with donors discussing his 2016 plans on Friday.
"After putting considerable thought into making another run for president, I’ve decided it is best to give other leaders in the Party the opportunity to become our next nominee," the prepared remarks say. Romney lost his 2008 bid for the Republican presidential nomination to Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), and in 2012, ran unsuccessfully against President Barack Obama.
Romney hinted recently that he was exploring a run for the presidency after months of him saying he would not make another White House bid.
"I'm not running, I'm not planning on running, and I've got nothing new on that story," he told Bloomberg in October 2014. more

The Mushroom that Shows Promise Against Cancer.....Cordyceps (cordyceps militaris) is also known as caterpillar fungus and has been used for thousands of years in Chinese medicine as a lung and kidney tonic and for loss of stamina, fatigue, shallow breathing, wheezing, and as an aphrodisiac.

Michelle Schoffro Cook January 29, 2015
When we think of cancer in our Western world, we tend to think of harsh chemicals or toxic radiation as the treatments. But promising new research published in the journal Phytomedicine suggests that we might want to give serious consideration to the humble mushroom cordyceps that quietly rears its head deep within our forest floors.

Cordyceps (cordyceps militaris) is also known as caterpillar fungus and has been used for thousands of years in Chinese medicine as a lung and kidney tonic and for loss of stamina, fatigue, shallow breathing, wheezing, and as an aphrodisiac.
According to the Phytomedicine study on human leukemia cells, a compound found in cordyceps known as cordycepin seems to have a toxic effect on cancer cells while also causing cancer cells to commit suicide—a process known as apoptosis, without having a toxic effect on healthy cells.
The study examined the anti-cancer properties of a tea made from the mushrooms versus the mushrooms themselves and found that both had anti-cancer activity but the actual cordyceps mushrooms had stronger activity. There are many different types of products on the market including: powdered, tea, alcohol extract (tincture), dehydrated whole cordyceps, glycerine extract (glycerite), and capsules. more

NFL didn’t log the PSI of each Patriots football....What was the precise PSI of each of the 12 footballs the Patriots’ offense used in the AFC Championship Game? We’ll probably never know.

FootballGetty Images
What was the precise PSI of each of the 12 footballs the Patriots’ offense used in the AFC Championship Game? We’ll probably never know.
NFL head of officiating Dean Blandino confirmed today that the NFL didn’t log the exact PSI of each football. According to Blandino, when officials inspect footballs to see if they’re properly inflated, they simply approve them or disapprove them.
In other words, although the Patriots did play with under-inflated footballs, the NFL hasn’t kept detailed records of whether those footballs were slightly under-inflated (which could be the result of a change in temperature) or significantly under-inflated (which would indicate that someone purposely let air out of the footballs).
The NFL will apply a low standard of proof to the Deflategate investigation, which means that the NFL doesn’t necessarily need an air-tight case to conclude that the Patriots broke the rules. But anyone who wants the NFL to get to the bottom of this should want the NFL to be as careful as it possibly can to preserve every piece of evidence it possibly can. And a detailed log of the inflation levels of each football is a piece of evidence the NFL should have. more
