RENOWNED drum and bass team Sly and Robbie, and their protegé Cherine Anderson, are scheduled to perform on separate concerts in Johannesburg, South Africa this month.
On September 6, Sly and Robbie will play Jazz on the Lake at James and Ethel Gray Park along with Angelique Kidjo of Benin and guitarist Jimmy Dludlu of South Africa. This is the country's premier live music event. Anderson makes her South African debut on September 26 on the 23rd Arts Alive International Festival Urban Vibes Concert. Sly and Robbie are producing Anderson's soon to be released album. They produced her 2006 hit song Good Love and worked on Say Hey (I Love You), a 2007 song she did with American singer Michael Franti that made the Billboard Pop Charts.
The latter is part of month-long celebration aimed at empowering inner-city youth in Johannesburg.
