The athlete has withdrawn from the Edmonton International Track Classic, which is scheduled for June 29 at Foote Field. She will also miss next weekends Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association/Supreme Ventures Limited National Senior Championships and, by extension, this summers IAAF World Championships in Athletics.Diuretics are masking agents banned by the World Anti-Doping Agency because of their ability to hide the presence of performance-enhancing drugs in the system.

LOOK: This Chart Will Freak Out Every Mom And Dad In America : How College Costs Are Skyrocketing Out Of Middle-Class America's Reach (In 1 Chart)

Over the past three decades, the inflation-adjusted income of the median American family has basically remained stagnant. The same can’t be said of college costs, which have simultaneously surged to almost unrecognizable heights, according to a new report by the left-leaning Center for American Progress.
College CostsCosts at private nonprofit four-year colleges have increased by more than 150 percent since 1982, but the real trouble is at four-year public schools, where inflation-adjusted costs have experienced a startling 250 percent jump.
It’s not so difficult to understand how this puts families in a bind. As of 2011, only half of American households could claim an income of more than $50,000, according to the U.S. Census -- a number low enough to make paying for a child’s college education appear more dream than reality. ADIOS, AHMADINEJAD : Moderate Rouhani Wins Decisive Victory In Iran Election... White House: U.S. Respects Results

TEHRAN, Iran — Wild celebrations broke out on Tehran streets that were battlefields four years ago as reformist-backed Hasan Rowhani capped a stunning surge to claim Iran's presidency on Saturday, throwing open the political order after relentless crackdowns by hard-liners to consolidate and safeguard their grip on power.
"Long live Rowhani," tens of thousands of jubilant supporters chanted as security officials made no attempt to rein in crowds – joyous and even a bit bewildered by the scope of his victory with more than three times the votes of his nearest rival.
In his first statement after the results were announced, Rowhani said that "a new opportunity has been created ... for those who truly respect democracy, interaction and free dialogue."
But in Iran, even landslides at the ballot box do not equate to policymaking influence. READ More...

Kate Middleton Cruise Ship Naming Ceremony Calls For An Animal Print (PHOTOS)

Kate Middleton Cruise ShipNaming a ship might not sound like a big deal, but Kate Middleton's cruise ship gig was a major one indeed. On Thursday morning, the Duchess of Cambridge formally christened the Royal Princess cruise ship, the newest addition to Princess Cruises' fleet.
Chosen as the "godmother" of the ship, Kate was on hand to name the vessel -- "I name this ship Royal Princess. May God bless her and all who sail in her" -- and break the ceremonial bottle of champagne on the hull.
The event was a notable one, and not only because Kate's mother-in-law, Princess Diana, christened the first Royal Princess in 1984. It's also one of the pregnant royal's final appearances before she gives birth and goes on "maternity leave." (We may still see her this Saturday at the annual Trooping of the Colour.) READ More...

Prince William Has Indian Heritage? DNA Test Of Princess Diana's Lineage Indicates So: Report

The British royal family may have some explaining to do. If the results of a DNA test conducted by BritainsDNA are to be believed, the royal lineage has some unlikely roots -- in India.
The United Kingdom-based genetic ancestry testing company analyzed themitochondrial DNA of two cousins of Princess Diana and compared them to global samples, CNN reports. According to the results of the DNA test, Princess Diana's sonPrince William has Indian heritage.
The royal's connection to the South Asian country stems from Williams' great-great-great-great-great-grandmother Eliza Kewark, who worked as a housekeeper in India. As ABC News notes, Kewark has often been described as Armenian, but the DNA results indicate that she is at least half Indian.
BritainsDNA discovered the mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) belonged to a rare haplogroup, R30b, that is usually only found in the Indian population. READ More...

J$100.47:US$1: Fixed Exchange Rate Won't Solve Ja's Problem - IMF Representative

WignalDr Gene Leon, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) senior resident representative to Jamaica, is arguing that discussions on whether Jamaica should go the way of a fixed exchange rateis misplaced.
Leon, along with economists Dr Damieon King and Dr André Haughton, who were guests at a Gleaner Editors' Forum yesterday, said Jamaica needs to focus on fixing the fundamentals of its economy, rather than being concerned with the value of the Jamaican dollar.
"We focus on the exchange rate as though that exchange rate is anything other than a consequence of where we are," Leon said.
Yesterday, the Jamaican dollar closed at J$100.47:US$1 after breaking the J$100:$US1 mark for the first time last Friday.
The IMF, with which the country's has entered a US$2 billion four-year extended fund facility, said Jamaica's currency is overvalued. Read More...

NSA Spying Controversy Highlights Embrace Of Big Data : 'The First Technological Innovation Since The Internet With The Potential To Change The World'

Nsa Big DataEven within the infrastructure of the American surveillance apparatus, the National Security Agency is notoriously secretive. The spy agency jealously guards from public view practically all aspects of its operations, from the information it collects to its plans for a massive 100,000-square-foot building being constructed in the Utah desert.
But when it comes to the agency's primary tool for making sense of all that data, the NSA hasn't been secretive at all. Indeed, two years ago, it made public the very code for a key program it uses to analyze the firehose of information pouring into its computer servers.
The NSA’s decision to give away that code to developers has helped fuel what is now a booming trend in technology known as "big data." The technology, Accumulo, makes it possible for companies to sift through massive amounts of information with essentially the same degree of sophistication and security as the country's top spy agency. Dr. NEIL GARDNER: The Truth About Cholesterol: Part 3 - How To Naturally Lower Cholesterol

Dr Neil GardnerWe now understand from the last two articles that inflammation is the real cause of heart disease and that cholesterol-loweringmedications are very dangerous to your health. Not only are they potentially harmful, but they do not deliver on the promise to reduce heart disease. In order for us to finally lower the incidence of heart disease, we must effectively tackle the problem of inflammation by identifying and correcting our habits that lead to it.
Omega-6 and Omega-3 Fats
The two main types of oils that we consume that participate in the inflammation processes in the body are the omega-6 fats, which promote inflammation and omega-3 fats, which reduce inflammation. In order for us to be healthy, our diet must contain the right blend of both omega-6 and omega-3 fats.
Omega-6 fats may be found in poultry, avocado, most vegetable oils used for cooking, flax/linseed oil, rapeseed or canola oil, soybean oil, cottonseed oil, sunflower seed oil, corn oil, safflower oil, cashews, pecans, pine nuts, walnuts, coconut. WARNS: Surveillance State 'An Existential Threat To Democracy'... 'I Don't Want To Live In A Society That Does These Sorts Of Things'...

Ed Snowden
The Guardian published the identity of the whistleblower on Sunday responsible for providing the paper with top-secret documents that revealed the National Security Agency's secret surveillance programs. The paper wrote that it was revealing Edward Snowden's identity at his request:
From the moment he decided to disclose numerous top-secret documents to the public, he was determined not to opt for the protection of anonymity. 'I have no intention of hiding who I am because I know I have done nothing wrong,' he said.
The Guardian compared Snowden, a 29-year-old former CIA technical assistant and current employee of Booz Allen Hamilton, to Daniel Ellsberg and Bradley Manning. "Snowden will go down in history as one of America's most consequential whistleblowers, alongside Daniel Ellsberg and Bradley Manning. He is responsible for handing over material from one of the world's most secretive organisations – the NSA," Glenn Greenwald, Ewen MacAskill and Laura Poitras wrote.
Snowden, however, said there were differences. "I carefully evaluateevery single document I disclosed"...... READ More...
