Representing Jamaica, Excelsior High's Shanice Love won the Girls Under 17 Discus Throw at the 42nd Carifta Games earlier today. Shanice won with a personal best of 40.15m, beating teammate Janell Fullerton (39.91m) into second place. The Games are being held in Nassau, Bahamas.
Janice is next scheduled to compete at the Penn Relays on April 25, 2013.  The Eagles Project continues.Age Animo,

94 Year Old, Nelson Mandela Admitted To Hospital With Lung Infection

JOHANNESBURG — Nelson Mandela, the anti-apartheid leader who became South Africa's first black president, has been admitted to a hospital with a recurring lung infection, South Africa said Thursday.

There is uncertainty surrounding the staging of this year's GEM Children's Pantomime as sponsors have not been coming on board to fund the production. With Child Month approaching, Sandrea Dennis, marketing assistant at Precision Strategic Partners Limited, told The Gleaner that so far they have raised a little more than US$400.
With the pantomime costing up to US$25,000, there is certainly a far way to go.
