Jamaica, Cuba To Join Forces In Building Cheap Solar Panels Locally

KINGSTON, Jamaica, July 7, CMC- Jamaica is to partner with Cuba to manufacture and assemble cost effective solar light panels locally. 

This partnership forms part of the government’s move towards incorporating renewable alternatives into the local energy mix in order to reduce the country’s huge energy bill. 

Energy Minister Phillip Paulwell, who made the disclosure during the ceremonial switching on of lights in the communities of New Forest and Plumwood in the central parish of Manchester last week, said that the Rural Electrification Programme (REP) Limited will guide the process. READ More...
